Rapper Jay-Z is being sued for Risky Business
Jay-Z gambled with his employees' health and safety -- this according to a new lawsuit filed against the rapper ... by the Workers Compensation Board of New York.
According to the suit, Jay-Z failed to pay workers' compensation insurance for three months in 2009 -- and sources close to the situation tells that, the insurance was supposed to cover domestic employees in Jay-Z's house ... cooks, maids, drivers ... that sort of thing.
The government agency sued the rapper to collect $18,000 in fines for the transgression -- and a court has since ordered Jay to pay up.
According to the docs, it was only a momentary lapse -- after the three-month period in 2009, Jay-Z acquired the right insurance and the problem was resolved ... with the exception of the outstanding $18,000 owed.
A source close to Jay-Z claims the rapper never lapsed in his workers' comp payments -- telling us, the $18,000 bill is the result of a clerical error ... which is currently being sorted out.

Sinead O'Connor Ends Marriage – After 18 Days
Eighteen days after her Dec. 8 Las Vegas wedding, Sinead O'Connor is ending her marriage to Barry Herridge, the "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer announced Monday on her website.
"Dear friends," O'Connor 45, writes, "I had for reasons u will all understand, wished to keep this private but have been told today it is to be leaked in the next few days despite my best efforts. So I must now leak it myself so as the record is straight."
She blames pressures placed upon him by "certain people in his life" not to be with her based on press reports about her.
"Within 3 hours of the ceremony being over the marriage was kyboshed by the behaviour of certain people in my husband's life. And also by a bit of a wild ride i took us on looking for a bit of a smoke of weed for me wedding night as I don't drink," she writes. "My husband was enormously wounded and very badly effected by that experience and also by the attitude of those close to him toward our marriage. It became apparent to me that if he were to stay with me he would be losing too much to bear."
She adds, "A woman wants to be a joy to her husband. So.. U love someone? Set them free."
She also says, "He is a wonderful man. I love him very much. I'm sorry I'm not a more regular woman. I truly believe though it is painful to admit, we made a mistake rushing into getting married, for altruistic reasons, and weren't aware or prepared for the consequences on my husband's life and the lives of those close to him. He has been terribly unhappy and I have therefore ended the marriage. I think he is too nice to do so. And too nice to trap."
O'Connor, who has four children from her previous relationships, wed music producer John Reynolds in 1989 and journalist Nicholas Sommerlad in 2001. This past April, she split from longtime friend and collaborator Steve Cooney.

Adam Lambert & Boyfriend Sauli Koskinen Arrested in Gay Bar Brawl
Adam Lambert and his boyfriend, Finnish reality star Sauli Koskinen, were both jailed in Helsinki early Thursday morning after reportedly getting into a dispute that led to a physical altercation at a bar.
Lambert, 29, a former American Idol runner-up, and Koskinen, 26, a winner of the Finnish version of Big Brother, were held for questioning as local police looked into four possible assault offenses, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
They were released Thursday afternoon. Koskinen then blogged about the incident, suggesting the pair had patched things up.
"Fame is not easy. Celebrities are only human. Love is not easy either, but it is forever!" he wrote, adding that it was a private matter.
The two were reportedly kicked out of a bar called Don't Tell Mama, but continued fighting on the street outside. Finnish beauty queen Sofia Ruusila, who was partying with them, was allegedly struck accidentally during the fracas.
Later on Thursday, Lambert Tweeted about the incident in a playful message which seemed to indicate alcohol played a part – and that he had learned his lesson.
"Jetlag+Vodka=blackout," he wrote. "Jail+guilt+press=lesson learned. Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it."
It is unclear whether either man would face any charges connected to the fight.

Paris Jackson Makes First Solo Appearance on Ellen
So many fans have faced the tragedy of seeing an icon pass away, but we can only imagine the effect Michael Jackson’s death had on his children.
Luckily, Paris Jackson lets us know while appearing on Ellen (airing Thursday) that she will use her father’s memory as inspiration to follow her dreams. The young Miss Jackson also discusses her latest acting gig, explains what it was like to wear a mask as a child and shares the most memorable thing her father told her.
We might be surprised to hear about Paris’ latest film endeavors, but she explains that it was a long time coming.
Jackson tells Ellen DeGeneres that she’s wanted to act since “I was really little. My dad was in the movie Moonwalker and I knew he could sing really well, but I didn’t know he could act. I saw that and I said, ‘Wow, I want to be just like him.’
“We would do improv together. He would give us little scenarios. He would say, ‘OK, in this scene, you’re going to cry,’ and I’d cry on the spot.”
Growing up wearing a mask must have seemed strange to the young girl, but Paris realizes that her father was only doing this to protect her and give her the chance of a normal childhood.
“I’m like, This is stupid. Why am I wearing a mask? But I kind of realized the older I got like he only tried to protect us and he’d explain that to us, too.”
And as far as the most memorable thing Jackson has said to Paris…
“He said, ‘If I die tomorrow, always remember what I told you.’ I took his advice and I remembered everything he told me.”

Michael Jackson's Children: How Are They Doing?
As the two-and-a-half year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death approaches, the pop star’s children are keeping busy carrying on his legacy.
Prince, Paris, and Blanket recently attended a taping of The X Factor, checked out the Las Vegas opening of Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour by Cirque du Soleil and the Michael Jackson Fan Fest memorabilia exhibit. And now Paris, 13, has landed her first acting role in the film Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys.
“They’re doing well,” their uncle Marlon tells PEOPLE.
Much of the credit for their happiness goes to their grandmother, Katherine, who has been raising the kids since their father’s death. “My grandmother is 81, but she’s very hands-on,” says their first cousin Genevieve, Randy’s daughter.
While they may be mini-celebs with multimillion-dollar trust funds reportedly waiting for them when they turn 30 – their father’s estate earned $445 million in the past two years alone, according to Forbes – the kids are leading relatively normal lives.
After years of home-schooling, Prince, 14, and Paris now attend a private school. “They love the social aspect of it,” says a family insider, noting Prince is “a great student” and “really popular with the girls.” Paris, meanwhile, plays on the boys’ flag-football team but isn’t dating. Explains the insider: “She’s got too many uncles keeping an eye on her.”
As for little brother Blanket (real name: Prince Michael II), 9, the shy boy is schooled at their seven-bedroom Calabasas, Calif., home, where he’s also been getting an education in the kitchen. “He likes cooking,” says the insider. “He’ll make cakes and cupcakes. The staff chef helps him.”
But the real passion for all three kids is entertainment. While Paris is focused on acting, her brothers are into filmmaking. “Prince and Blanket want to be directors,” says Genevieve, a music artist. “They make home movies together and recruit their cousins to act in them.” She adds, “The cousins are all very close.”
Having that bond is how the Jackson 3 remain grounded, says their uncle Jackie. “They stay with the family. That’s what it’s about. We keep a close watch on them.”
Lindsay Lohan's Chanel Purse, Passport Stolen in Hawaii
Lindsay Lohan’s purse and belongings have been returned, minus $10,000. TMZ reports the starlet was glad to have her items back and didn’t ask any questions about the money of the person who returned the bag.
Lindsay Lohan seems like she’s been on her best behavior since her last court appearance. She’s been doing all of her court-mandated community service at the morgue, hasn’t been partying wildly, and she even had her trip to Hawaii signed off by her probation officer. But there’s been a bit of a hiccup: Her purse was stolen.
You’re probably thinking, “So what, she probably has about a zillion purses.” And that’s most likely true. But, this $5,000 Chanel purse happened to contain her passport and other form of ID, probation paperwork, and lots and lots of cash, reports TMZ. Yikes.
The purse was reportedly taken while she was at a house party in Laie, Hawaii. She left the designer bag in the car by accident, and when she left the bash two hours later, it was gone.
It’s no fun to be out a bunch of cold hard cash without something to show for it, and we bet she really liked that handbag, but the only major issue could be the ID situation. Lohan’s due back in court in California Wednesday for a hearing about her probation, and if she misses that the judge has the power to revoke her probation and send her back to the slammer. Now, it’s highly unlikely that she won’t figure something out before Wednesday, but this sort of thing has happened before.
If you remember back to May of last year, Lilo missed a very important court date because she claimed someone stole her passport while she was at the Cannes Film Festival in France. Stay tuned.
